I was born and raised in São Paulo, Brazil. I attended Yale University where I received a BA in Psychology. I earned my medical degree from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia. After internship training at Yale University I went on to complete my psychiatry residency at the University of Washington in Seattle with an emphasis on psychotherapy and disordered eating.
After residency, I had a faculty appointment at the University of California, San Diego. In 2009 I returned to Washington to start my own psychotherapy-based private practice.
I am board-certified in general psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. In addition to English, I am fluent in Portuguese, and German.
I treat adults ages 25-60 with depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, disordered eating, and stress associated with complicated relationship, career, grief and medical problems.

My practice is located in Edmonds and I specialize in adult psychiatry. I treat people with various emotional difficulties with a psychotherapy-based treatment approach, using medications when needed. I believe in a trusting and collaborative relationship with patients in a manner that is comfortable, supportive and confidential.
